At the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (CoMO) we are dedicated to preventing meningitis globally by ensuring families worldwide have access to early diagnosis, preventative measures and quick treatment.

I was affected by meningococcal meningitis about 10 years ago, when I lost my legs and fingers because of the disease. At the time, I thought that I had lost everything, including my dreams.

World Meningitis Day 2020 highlighted why we need to #DefeatMeningitis and the steps we can all take to make it reality.

  • Meningitis and septicaemia are medical emergencies. Prevention and early recognition are key. 

  • Meningitis can affect anyone at any time and can kill in hours.

  • We can all do our part to help #DefeatMeningitis.
