Tell your politician
Can you take three minutes today to ask your local politician to support World Meningitis Day and the Road Map to Defeat Meningitis?
The WHO’s Road Map to Defeat Meningitis by 2030 is our best chance to reduce meningitis cases by 50%, saving 200,000 lives a year in the process. World Meningitis Day is a great opportunity to reach out to your local politician and ask them to keep their constituents and communities safe from meningitis, an infection that causes heartbreak every day.
We’ve created a tool for you to generate a letter that you can send to your local politician, asking them to support the vision of the Road Map. Just follow these four steps:
-
Complete this short Google Form
-
Check your inbox (or spam folder) for an email from comomeningitis@gmail.com
-
Click on the link in the email, it’ll take you to Google Docs where you can edit your template letter
-
Click ‘File’ and ‘Email this file’, putting in the email address of your local politician. Or, you can download the letter by clicking ‘File’ and ‘Download’.
What happens after I’ve sent my local politician my letter?
You may receive an automatic response with a timeframe for when they’ll reply. If you don’t hear back, it’s worthwhile to follow-up via email or a phone call.
What do I do if my local politician responds?
We’d love to know your local politician’s response, please forward it to CoMO at info@comomeningitis.org.
Can’t get in touch with your local politician?
Don’t worry! Small actions can have a big impact and there are lots of other ways to defeat meningitis this 5th October, learn more.
