The inaugural steering committee for the Immunization Partners in Asia Pacific (IPAP) was formed at a meeting held on 13th June in Hanoi, Vietnam. Bruce Langoulant, president of CoMO, is honoured to be a part of this committee, alongside other leading vaccine advocates and stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region.

Other members of this committee include Pornthep Chantavanich, Zulkifli Ismail, Tony Nelson, Kim Mulholland, Usa Thisyakorn, HT Wickramasinghe and John Yang.

The aim of IPAP, which was originally created in 2012, is to ensure public health is the key consideration for all government programs and policies, preventing individuals from suffering the effects of preventable diseases. IPAP engages organisations, governments and patient groups to advocate for optimum immunization coverage across the whole of Asia and beyond.

The new steering committee has been created to facilitate even greater engagement over issues of advocacy and immunization campaigns and is expected to drive forward the pursuit of greater vaccine awareness and availability.
