Falsified Meningitis Vaccine Discovered in Niger

The WHO have released a medical product alert requesting vigilance over a number of vaccines and solvents found in Niger. The products in question have falsified manufacturing and expiry dates, along with falsified batch numbers in some cases. The products relate to Men ACWY and Men ACW vaccines, which protect against up to four strains of meningococcal disease.

Further investigations are underway to determine the origin of these products. It is vital that only genuine vaccines and vaccine products are used to ensure reliability. For more information on the products affected please download the report from the WHO:
