Siobhan Holohan, ACT for Meningitis (Ireland):“After losing our 4-year-old daughter to meningitis in 2008 we set up the organization act for meningitis in Ireland. The reason why ACT for Meningitis is here is because we want to try and stop families going through what we went through because losing our child to meningitis changed our life forever.

 

Those living with the side-effects, they leave the hospital and have to live a different life and our aim in the fight against meningitis is to get awareness out there to make people aware the signs and symptoms (what to look out for) watch to and to ensure that their vaccinations are up-to-date and there is vaccinations available in our country."
