My meningitis story

“I don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through.”

There are 2.5 million cases of meningitis every year. Behind each case, there’s a person affected, those who love them, and a story.

CoMO’s network is made up of people whose lives have been forever changed by meningitis. This includes people living with its after effects, as well as the families and friends of people affected, many of whom lost their lives. It also includes advocates and healthcare professionals who see the life-changing impacts of meningitis every day.

As part of our campaign this year, some of our members have shared their meningitis stories which you can read below. Their stories highlight how frightening meningitis is and the devastation in causes in families and communities worldwide. They also emphasise the need for us all to join the race to defeat meningitis by 2030. You can download these stories as social media tiles to share across your accounts. You can also create and share your own story using our editable stats and stories template. Find these and more in our Toolkit of communications resources.
