The race is on to defeat meningitis by 2030: Tell your story, your way and be one of 2030 global voices of experience

Across the world, meningitis kills 1 in 10 people and causes lifelong disability in 1 in 5 people who survive it.

Behind every statistic is a person and a story.

They are why defeating meningitis matters.

For the first time in history there is a Global Road Map to Defeat Meningitis by 2030.

Countries worldwide have committed to the World Health Organization's vision of better prevention, diagnosis, treatment, disease monitoring, health advocacy, and support and aftercare.

By sharing personal accounts of the impact of meningitis we can not only show our support for the Road Map but help pave the way for change, ensuring the voices of those affected are heard.

Why does sharing personal experience of meningitis matter?

There is nothing more powerful than hearing someone tell their story, in their own words. Only through sharing experiences can others understand what it’s truly like to be affected by meningitis and help drive the change needed to save lives.

Every day to 2030 matters.

That’s why we’re calling on you to tell your story, your way.

We want to show our support for the Global Road Map by bringing together 2030 voices from around the world to share their experiences of meningitis and get one step closer to a future free of meningitis.

You might be someone who has survived or a family member, a friend or a health care professional whose life has been directly impacted by meningitis.

If you have a meningitis experience you would like to share, we’d love to feature your story in Meningitis in your words, to help educate and inform people all over the world about the reality of life after meningitis.

How can I share my meningitis experience?

If you have direct experience of meningitis which you would like to share, please submit your story, in English or your native language, using this form.

How will my meningitis experience be used?

Through telling people's stories we can continue to raise awareness globally and drive the change needed to save lives.

All stories submitted will be added to Meningitis in your words and shared in a variety of ways, including across our social media accounts, in support of the Global Road Map.

This will help us to reach as many people as possible all over the world and increase understanding of what it’s truly like to be directly impacted by meningitis.

Show your support for the Global Road Map by helping to represent the voice of those affected by meningitis and play your part in turning the Road Map into reality.

The clock is ticking to 2030.

Now is the time to unite.

Tell your story, your way and join the race to defeat meningitis.
